This lot was truly a diamond in the rough! There was a bit of a decline from the road and most likely very few people ever made the trek down to see what would become the home site. If they had, they would have seen the spectacular lake views and purchased this lot on the spot! I'm glad that they didn't. When my client first showed it to me, I was immediately inspired. My design objectives were to design a samll footprint and build up in lieu of building out, and gain access to the lakeshore which was the sweetest element of this great property. We didn't want the topography to swallow up the home and I think you will agree that it hasn't. This home is simple and reminiscent of New England Coast Cottages with its shingled exterior and simple lines. I don't know if a home should be characterized as photogenic, but this one is!
